Classical Ayurvedic Context
"Citrus fruits like lemon (Nimbuka) have traditionally been used in Ayurveda for their Deepana (appetite-stimulating) and Pachana (digestive) qualities to balance Kapha and Vata."
Step-by-Step Preparation (Nirmana Vidhi)
Follow these instructions precisely to preserve the delicate volatile compounds and medicinal potency.
1
Boil 1.5 cups of water in a pan.
2
Add tea leaves/green tea (and optional ginger/pepper) and let it simmer for 1–2 minutes.
3
Strain the tea into a cup and let it cool slightly (until warm, not boiling).
4
Stir in fresh lemon juice.
5
Add honey once warm to taste.
Important Preparation Precautions
- •Never add honey to boiling hot liquid, as Ayurveda considers heated honey toxic (Ama-forming).
- •Consume in moderation if you have teeth sensitivity or acid reflux.
Contraindications: Who Should Avoid
- ✕Individuals suffering from active hyperacidity, severe gastritis, or stomach ulcers.
- ✕People with severe citrus allergies.
